Morgan & Morgan and Philadelphia 76ers Announce Results of 2026 Reading Challenge

CAMDEN, N.J., April 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Morgan & Morgan, America’s largest injury law firm, in partnership with the Philadelphia 76ers, today announced the results of the 2026 76ers Reading Challenge, an initiative that encouraged hundreds of students ages 7–11 across the School District of Philadelphia and Camden City School District to foster their reading skills.

The initiative allowed Morgan & Morgan and the 76ers to build upon their existing partnership to bring the joy of reading directly to local communities through a program designed to encourage consistent literacy habits. The Reading Challenge invited students to track their reading minutes between February 2 and March 20, 2026. Students who reached 760 minutes were eligible for prizes, while those who exceeded that milestone were entered for a chance to be recognized at a 76ers home game.

This year’s top reader, fifth grader Jordan Holloway, logged 791 minutes between February 5 and March 12. Altogether, participating students recorded a remarkable 128,917 hours of reading time, with 88 students meeting or surpassing the 760-minute goal.

In addition to the Reading Challenge, Morgan & Morgan served as the presenting sponsor of the “Boards for Books” program. Through this initiative, the firm pledged to donate $7.60 for every 76ers rebound during the 2025–26 season, supporting local literacy programs and expanding access to books for students in need. As of April 1, 2026, the initiative has raised over $22,500.

“We believe reading is one of the most powerful tools a young person can have, and programs like this help open doors to opportunity,” said Dan Morgan, Managing Partner at Morgan & Morgan. “At Morgan & Morgan, we’re proud to partner with the Philadelphia 76ers to invest in our communities and inspire the next generation to build strong, lifelong learning habits.”

“The level of engagement we saw from students, logging hundreds of minutes of reading this past month, was truly exceptional,” said Owen Morin, Chief Revenue Officer, Partnerships, Philadelphia 76ers. “Our partnership with Morgan & Morgan allowed us to turn a love of basketball into an appreciation for reading, which will help these students continue to grow, inside and outside the classroom.”

On March 24, family members of the 76ers hosted Read Across America assemblies at Camden’s Pride and Katz Dalsey Academy. During the events, books funded through Morgan & Morgan’s “Boards for Books” program were distributed to students, further reinforcing the initiative’s commitment to literacy and education.
